- What are the hardware and software requirements?
o 1GB of memory, 200MB free Hard Drive space
o Windows XP, 2003 Server, 2008 Server, Vista or Windows 7. Both 32-bit and 64-bit systems are supported.
- We are using Unix/Linux as servers on all our workstations. We do not have any Windows computers/VM images that we can use in our organization. Is there a way to use your software to help us with our migration needs?
o Migration Center is an extremely user friendly tool from an installation, configuration and usability standpoint. The primary target platform for our solution is Windows. If you need a Unix only solution, please click here to learn about our award winning enterprise PathBuilder Server.
- Will Migration Center work with our Unix based source or target repository servers?
o Migration Center connects to source and target repositories regardless of the operation system, as long as the network connection and proper security credentials are in place. We do not need to install any addons on your source/target system in order to operate.
- Where does Migration Center need to be installed? Source, Target, or another server?
o Migration Center does not require a dedicated server. It can be installed on your source or target server, or any other available server, user desktop, or virtual machine.
- Do I need to install any additional components on my source and target servers?
o Migration Center is a completely, self contained installation, meaning it does not require any components to be installed outside of the installation machine. However, if you are using a Microsoft SharePoint solution, then a small addon will be required to be installed on the SharePoint server.
- Where can I access my account information, including which solutions I have downloaded?
o To access this information, please click the Login link located at the top of this page. Once logged in, click My Account to view all information regarding your account.

- Where should I install Migration Center in order to achieve the optimal migration performance?
o Migration Center can be installed virtually anywhere inside your organization’s network. For optimal performance, make sure to choose a location where a fast network connection to both your source and target repository is obtainable. If no place like this exists, you may consider installing Migration Center on your source or target server to minimize any network bottlenecks.
- I received the email containing my download link and license key, how do I install Migration Center?
o Before clicking the download link, please make sure that you have an active internet connection. Once this is verified, then click the download link and Migration Center will begin the download and installation process automatically. Once the software installation is complete, you will be prompted to enter your License key. Copy the key from the email into this field. The key will be verified and once verification completes, your solution will be downloaded and installed.
- Can I install Migration Center on more than one computer?
o Migration Center licenses are valid for only one installation. If you have a need to install multiple copies, then you will need to buy additional licenses.
- Do I need an internet connection to install Migration Center?
o Yes, an active internet connection is required for the entire download and installation process. Once the installation is complete, the internet connection is no longer required. If you have a firewall, please temporary disable or allow our connection during this time.
- I submitted my information to download a solution, but I never received an email with instructions or a license key. Where can I retrieve this information?
o Please check your email spam folder to see if it was moved to this location. If you still are unable to locate the email, visit the My Account section of this site to retrieve the download links and license keys for all your Migration Center solutions.
- How do I uninstall Migration Center?
o In your Windows Start Menu, an uninstall link will be located in the same directory as the application.
- I downloaded another solution, how do I add it to my current installation?
o Start Migration Center and login. Click Help and then Software Configuration. Click the Manage Solutions tab and enter your new license key. The license key will be verified and then the download and installation process will take place. Once complete, the software will restart and your solution will be ready to use.
- How do I remove or uninstall a solution?
o Start Migration Center and login. Click Help and then Software Configuration. Click the Manage Solutions tab and click the checkbox next to the solution. Click the uninstall button. This solution will be uninstalled and the software will restart to complete the process.
- My trial period has expired. Can I extend the license?
o Yes, you can extend your trial license one time by visiting the My Account page, selecting the trial solution you want to extend and pressing the “Extend Trial” button. The updated license key will be sent to you via email.
- I purchased a full version of a solution and recently added a trial solution to my Migration Center. The trial solution has since expired and now I get a trial expiration warning screen whenever I start the application. How can I remove this warning?
o Start Migration Center and login. Click Help and then Software Configuration. Click the Manage Solutions tab and click the checkbox next to the solution. Click the uninstall button. This solution will be uninstalled and the software will restart to complete the process. When it starts up, the warning screen will not appear.
- I have purchased a full version of a solution and I want to try another solution. Can I install it on the same or another PC from what I’m currently using?
o Yes, both options are valid. You can download and install the new trial solution on any other PC. Just follow the email instructions. As an alternative, you can add your trial solution to an already installed instance of Migration Center by clicking the application Help menu and then Software Configuration. Click the Manage Solutions tab and enter your new license key. The license key will be verified and then the download and installation process will take place. Once complete, the software will restart and the solution will be ready to use.
- Where can I obtain the user manual?
o All documentation, including installation and user guides can be downloaded from the Documentation page, located under the Support tab.
- Do you have any tutorials, in addition to the documentation?
o Please visit our Video section to see tutorials of several features of Migration Center.
- Why do I need to login when starting Migration Center?
o As part of the repository connection configuration, you have to enter repository credentials that will be used for all subsequent migrations, including user name and passwords. The login will protect this information from unauthorized access.
